Our primary funding comes from people like you, many of our local churches, and other private donations. While our primary focus is to provide food to families, we at LAM do so much more for the people in our community, like helping with medications, counseling, buying school supplies for needy children, and when no other agency funds are available we help pay rent and/or utility bills in emergency situations. We are currently supported by 19 of our local churches for funding and volunteer. We receive some assistance with food through the USDA; all other operating costs are met through the generosity of private individuals, local and civic organizations.Each year we serve more and more families, growing from approximately 2000 clients in 1989 to over 8000 clients in 2005. We are very proud of our ministry and how it has grown and continues to grow. We take pride in all the good we accomplish everyday. We are an all volunteer, 501c corporation. All donations are tax deductible. All our volunteers come from within the 19 churches that currently help support us. We work to improve the well being of those who are in need. Every day presents new challenges and new opportunities at Lake Area Ministries, Inc. |
